Default Exhaust broke in half

Any one have thoughts on why this happened other than age and miles. 2007SG with 105K. Looking for used replacement.

where'd it break?

the Y pipe can break behind the rear cylinder- esp if the owner bangs on the header when changing mufflers.

this is easy to weld up and fix- take the pipe to a shop.

otherwise there are all kinds of headers 1996-2006 will fit, but you need to weld in o2 sensor bungs.

or you can get a 2007-2008 header, they have the bungs

Default Broken Pipes

Looks like the remaining piece of pipe has a support bracket that is bolted to the trans side cover.
I don't know what broke your pipe, but I would suspect that the muffler or mufflers weren't bolted to the bike tightly enough. Has that pipe ever been wrapped with exhaust tape ? That will also weaken the pipe as it can't dissipate heat fast enough and cracks or breaks the pipe.
I had a short pipe on my Dyna and the support bracket at the trans got loose and it broke a rear cylinder exhaust stud. It also caused the front exhaust flange to come loose repeatedly
BTW I don't think you can weld that back together.

I wouldn't try to weld that! If we keep this thread alive for a while you may get an offer of a secondhand one, otherwise look in the HDF Classifieds or Ebay.

I am in the Timonium area, 2013 I don't believe will work. Can someone confirm if 2013 header with 02 sensor will work on 2007?
