Looks like the remaining piece of pipe has a support bracket that is bolted to the trans side cover.
I don't know what broke your pipe, but I would suspect that the muffler or mufflers weren't bolted to the bike tightly enough. Has that pipe ever been wrapped with exhaust tape ? That will also weaken the pipe as it can't dissipate heat fast enough and cracks or breaks the pipe.
I had a short pipe on my Dyna and the support bracket at the trans got loose and it broke a rear cylinder exhaust stud. It also caused the front exhaust flange to come loose repeatedly

hey throttle, what part of md are you in? i'm down in southern maryland, calvert county. i have the exhaust they took off my 2013 flhtk. not sure it would fit or not. i kept it after i did a stage one with new header and pipes.
