Default deceleration vibration

I've read on here about people experiencing some vibration when braking, and some indicate that it's normal. I've been noticing when decelerating, no braking just letting the bike slow down on it's own while gearing down, that I also feel some vibration. Is this also normal? Could be in my head but it feels like it's getting more noticeable.

Vibration while braking isnt normal, its usually the result of warped rotors.

Regarding deceleration vibration, I would 1) make sure your spokes are tight and have been trued up per your service manual, 2) make sure your tires are properly inflated 3) check for tire wear (cupping, etc)

Beyond that, have someone else ride it, possibly someone from a dealer, see what they think.

Agree with Keithhu, but also add to check wheel bearings and neck bearing.

If you slow down without the brakes and pull the clutch in while slowing down, does it stop vibrating. You can narrow down if it's in the driveline.

On my Road King I get rough vibration on deceleration when the bolt that holds the exhaust to the transmission is loose.

I comes on very quickly, usually in the middle of a long trip.

This is the mounting bolt that is right by the cat, the first one as the headers come down from the heads. It is held tight by a locking nut, but it doesn't really hold forever.

Check and see!

Yes it goes away when the clutch is pulled in.

I'll check but I'm doubtful it's that, my dealer just put a full rinehart exhaust on, and when I was back a few weeks ago they did a re-tighten on all the bolts because they said after a few heat cycles the bolts should be re-checked, could have done it myself but I was there anyway.

I’m having the exact issue. It is especially bad when riding two up. Have you found the fix?
