I have been looking for new or used RK's and they are hard to find. I wonder if there are less RK's because they don't come standard with ABS. Once you add ABS the price puts you close to a SG or RG.

Uh, no.

And, ABS is not standard on the base SG or RG either.

You can get road kings with or without ABS. I am one that doesn't like harley's implementation of ABS.

I see less road kings on the road versus SGs or EGs. This being my first cruiser, all my previous bikes have been sporty naked bikes and I like the option of no windshield occasionally.

My 'King came with cruise, ABS, and security at no extra charge.
Included "Tilt", but only side to side LOL!

I think you have a combination of what has already been said. Not as many Road Kings sold and people keep them. I have an 08 RKC with 119,000 miles on it. I added and 11 Ultra then traded that for a 13 Limited. Still have the Road King and ride it everyday to work while the Limited sits in the garage. I could ride either one but I get on the King every morning. The Limited only gets used when my wife wants to ride with me or we go on a road trip.

OP do yourself a favor and test a 2017 RK, you'll rethink buying used.

RK's used to be the Moco's best seller up until about 08. Then the S/G became number 1. As others have said RK owners tend to keep their bikes longer than others. I'm probably typical in that I've had mine 10 years and the one before that for 7. This one is a keeper. I like the versatility of mine being a great around town bike. Then the fairing and tourpak go on for the big trips and it's basically EG Classic. Pull the tourpak and it it's almost a SG. I don't think you'll be sorry with a King in your garage.
