Default Upgrade Speakers

I have a 2009 Ultra Classic and have had it since new. It is stock with the exception of Rhineharts. I would like to improve the sound system by simply replacing the speakers without messing with a new amp. Any ideas?

I tried the 7.25 J&M speakers- the tonality is uneven and they are not pleasant to listen to, not worth the expense.

The tricky part is finding 2 ohm speakers but there are some out there which other members like.

Take a look at the stuff I'm selling in the Motorcycle Parts For Sale forum. In the Touring Parts category. JL Audio is great stuff. I have amp & speakers that you can get for 1/2 or less than the regular price to buy 'em new. Couple people have asked about them. Just depends on if somebody who already messaged me wants 'em. (Gotta have an amp if you want any quality & volume out of the speakers.)

you can replace the speakers , but it wont help much. the stock stereo is designed to be a low-power 2ohm system. it doesnt put out the juice needed to get significant volume increases. you can do a decent amp/speaker setup for a lil under $350 if you dont mind doing the install yourself.

+1 on a good set of earbuds... I installed Biketronics 7.1 speakers. They handle power and the sound is good. Only issue is once you get up to highway speed, there is not enough power to get the dBs up where you can hear them. If you truly want better sound, it will cost you as you need a good set of speakers AND an amp.

I put a set of JL 6.5 in my fairing . Huge improvement over stock speakers. I don't feel like I need an amp. Adapter rings are very cheap on eBay.

Hogtunes speakers are cheap & easy and an upgrade over stock even without the amp...$159 shipped from RevZilla.

I put the HD Boom audio speakers in mine, for the money, it's a great upgrade. I never saw the need for an amp.

Don't waste your $$$$ or settle for less than what you want.

A good stereo will cost you probably this side of $1000, if not slightly over.
I had previously Hogtunes in mine which was pretty much a waste of time and money and that was right @$500.

I have all Biketronics stuff now and not any regrets other than not getting it sooner.
