Before I go and buy myself and my buddy 400 dollars worth of Bagger Batteries, is the battery the issue? would a replacement battery immediately fix the problem? Should i buy a powerful charger instead, one that can run the 15 amps and such, its our first time and first day down here, so im looking for 100% "yes, that'll work" so im not just killing PTO for an Air B&B.
If you are in Daytona right now, I would bet there are a hundred guys around there that would be able to help you. From my experience I doubt that you would need a new battery on either bike. Maybe new FOB batteries.
If all else fails, you have the bikes in a trailer. Drive over to Destination Daytona (HD Dealer) and I’m sure they can fix you up a very short order!
Hope things work out for you.

Cheers, Terry

Charge the bike batteries. Maybe go to Wally Mart or a auto parts store. Buy a 10 amp charger. Charge each one about 1/2 hr and see what you get. If you want to remove the batteries take them to a auto parts for a charge.

After the security goes off it might recharge a little by itself overnight since they are newer bikes.

If the fob batteries were dead you would get a message to enter your PIN in the odometer readout.

Enjoy Daytona.....

6 year old thread. I guess spring is upon us, thus all the fob threads lately.

I'll add to the party. Keep an extra key fob battery in the saddle bag.

Modern maintenance chargers need to see a little voltage to work. My actual charger for my car has a boost 70 amp. I thru that on one day last week for a few minutes with battery out of the car. Then successfully brought a battery back my neighbor had drained to zero. I left it at 10 amp charge for 24 hours. PS.. that's way too much for a bike battery.

It's working now. I think personally that's a bad idea because draining a battery that low probably damages it.

Do to the supply problem, even Walmart around here can't get some batteries however. His battery was a 2 year old Everstart Maxx. Still under full warranty but guy at Walmart said they hadn't had any in, in months.

If you really try to save it, don't do it in bike and make sure you have a a meter to keep your eye on voltage. Make sure after it sits off charger 24 hours it's at 12.7 or so.

It maybe an old thread but good information for someone. It happened 6 years ago it can happen today. Cure is the same lesson is the same. Put the bike in transport more . It is not rocket science.

Hopefully Ron Sange will post an update on whether the problem was resolved, so it can shared with others.
I think it’s only common courtesy.

Cheers, Terry
