Been awhile since last posted, had little to nothing to present as had back surgery 8/31 and now carpal surgery of right hand! Had bike up yesterday, felt good and easy to get on/off with my back work being well completed but hand is still giving fits. Palm does not like seating against the grip, pulling in the front brake is Ok but the sting in the wrist is a bit much just yet but hey only been a week so far since they hacked into my wrist.
I am hoping to get at least one more decent ride on the repairs before end of year!!
Hope both your surgeries are successful! Woke to an inch of snow this morning and wonder if we'll ride again this year or will our neaxt ride be the first for 2017.
Take care and heal well.
Bill
Same here on your recovery. Just got back from a little short ride. Was going through withdrawl. Of course, down in my neck of the woods we can ride pretty much year round and I do, with the exception of real cold days. I suppose every section of the country has good and bad things about their weather.
Back repairs went better then expected. Three herniated discs and some serious stenosis due to an ancient injury. Cleaned up the herniation's rather than remove discs, so far MUCH less issues bending contorting and no pain down thru my legs just have to recover some movement and flexibility I lost over the years compensating for the original injury.
Hand on the other hand will see, stitches come out Friday.
Hang in there. Had a back injury, really, a fall right on my tailbone. Nothing broke but my pride. The pain was really bad for a month and a half. Made me really appreciate what people with a real bad back face. Mine got alright but wow, the pain was bad. Back pain is not funny.
So far the back repair seems to be a wonderment yet still have days where it is difficult to sit in one position long enough to justify riding. Can sit without a back support but would be nice, can even sit for long periods in the car but as try to get out stiffen up. Legs no longer ache, knees quit hurting, but am left rehabbing what went south as I nursed the bad back along, hamstrings tight and short, hips ache when walk too long and so on.
Carpal work went as well, no need for pain meds from either surgery, hand is a bit raw as stitches came out this morning, sensitive to pressure at the heel of the palm, doc said it would be another two weeks to be less so and even then will be bump sensitive for at least a few months.
It is CRAPOLA to get old, SUCKS too!! Beats the alternative tho'!!
YUP, age sucks!! course we're supposed to get wisdom, seems like in my case, age comes alone. A little arthritis in the knees, and torn rotators from years of pounding nails , but, like you, dont want to stop puttin' the nose in the wind. Keep doing the rehab, It'll get better. Ride safe and long.
