ok, i just got this 03 road glide in january, the 15000 mile service was due so i went to harley to get oil and filter, they recomended syc 3 in all three holes, so thats what i did(by the way its 104 degrees here) i went on about a hundred mile ride and on the last freeway exit to home after the usual downshifting i heard this low uneavin knocking noise. i tryed to feel the engine, trans and primary for the noise but felt no cluncking. the noise seems to go away after you come to a stop, i dont know if the noise is there going down the road because of the exhaust noise, itsreally noticable when you just pull in the clutch and coast, whatever it is it doesnt sound good, im hopeing that changeing the oil and the noise shortly after is just a coincidence. any ideas?
Sny3 in the trans is too thin, use redline trans oil or amsoil, your trans is probably hurting pull the trans plug and see if thereis anexsessive amount of metal on the magnet.
man do i feel like a donkey, it was the flippin kick stand, the little rubber goody came off somewhere on the road, you wouldnt believe the noise it made, sounded like something was ready to grenade, ill consider the oil change in trans, thanks
