I have a lifetime of Industrial electrical and controls experience its what I do. I can dig through a schematic. I troubleshoot and fix a lot of machinery. It is an obvious question and not meant to offend. It takes time and effort to dig through schematics or possibly go out and look at my bike to try to help you out. Why not have all info or questions that come into my head?
Good luck
Ditto - A Manual/Schematic, DVM, and a little time = no need to ask.
If asked for info, feed all you can until resolved. Info up front is even better. Don't make it seem like someone is wasting your time asking questions, when they're spending their time trying to resolve YOUR issue.
Sounds like possibly one less good resource.
looking at the wiring diagram link for a 2015 SGS that wire is used for the P&A circuit including teh acc plug-
possible that someone cut off the plug and soldered in their own wiring for something?
Mike
Certainly possible but nothing I am aware of. I think given the position that the wire was found in, I will pull the tank to verify this is not something that was running up the frame under tank that somehow got pulled.
I appreciate the help.

Obvious to a guy with "a lifetime of Industrial electrical and controls experience".
And hence my reason for asking as I am not one. But you already knew that.
I have a lifetime of finance experience. I bet if you ever questioned a "short sale rule" or the application of an uptick rule for an ECN, in the manner I did, I would not think you were trying to be difficult or insensitive.

Hopefully two. But don't worry I'll still pull over if your ever on the side of a road and need a fellow bikers assistance. I won't judge.

Red w/ blue stripe has been used by H-D for Brake light switch circuit which includes the relay and the ECM
H-D is pretty good about retaining wiring colour codes over decades
The wiring adjacent in the pic is NOT H-D factory wiring.
keep an eye on those, soldered wire joints on a vehicle will break over time- and the shrink tubing makes it look intact....

I didn't judge, I'm all about helping. I don't have your specific manual and wasn't going to misinform. I may have misunderstood as Sam2010 did. We try to help, but we need all the info to do that. Enjoy the ride and Merry Christmas.
