I have a 2010 RKC and need a new shield. I have decided to go with LRS but need some opinions on clear versus light tint. I ride during the day light. I am 5' 9" and plan on the 16" version. Currently I have a clear HD cut down to 17" and it is good for visibility but does buffet some. I would probably purchase the recurve in hopes it helps. Thoughts appreciated
I have the LRS recurve light tint, just right. The dark tint is too dark at night. Clear looks good, light tint looks great, dark looks ok. Good quality windshield, do not spray any type of cleaner or even gentle wax product, it will fog it.
Ditto on the comments about light tint not being an issue, and also I found the recurve to be a big improvement over the stock shield. Excellent product and a very reasonable price when you catch a sale.

Disagree. I clean mine with Original Biker Spirits almost exclusively with no issues.

This fogging issue is with regard to the LRS Elite Road King recurve light tint windshield. I sprayed it lightly with Protect-All carnuba wax spray. It will show it's fogged with the sun shining through it. I cleaned it several times, after with ammonia free glass spray, and it is still fogged. My experience. The batwing shield may be different.

Maybe you could try OBS, works for me on every surface be it paint, chrome, rubber, plastic, whatever
A Long Ride Shields are good for most not, not all of the buffeting on a Road King. As far
as tint goes, light or medium will not hamper night vision the dark tint may.

I been waxing my dark tint lrs for quite some time now. Only saw dew on it from substantial temp change while doing 70mph, but never any random fog. I use gliptone spray wax on it almost every other day, and even a carnuba by gliptone. When its real bad with bugs i use plexus. I also perform the same tasks on all my other bikes. Wonder if it has something to do with the tint. I never owned a light color windshield except for many years ago before they started offering tint. Even then i had my tint guy do the inside of shield for me. Those did not fog either while holding up awesome.

John, I took your advice. I found the 14oz aerosol can at Advance Auto store this morning. It was on closeout for $1.05 a can. (not a typo) I bought the last 2 they had. For that price I can use 'em for a doorstop if I don't like it. I'll update post in spring when I can use it.
