Default Fairing screws

Good day all. I was trying to take my front fairing off, (2011 Electra glide} and while removing one of the three screws that hold the windshield in place, one of the screws pulled the nut out of the inner fairing. What can I use to put it back in place? Should I use a glue or a two-part epoxy? Thank you

I've use two part expoxy. Just need a little bit while being careful not to fill the threads with the glue.

Go to your local HD shop and ask for a couple of these: part # 16585-96

They are cheap. Do a search on here and you'll find pics and instructions on how to use them.

You are not the first and won't be the last. Those bronze inserts mentioned able are the cats meow.

Good luck.

....go to lowes/home depot and pick up "T" nuts that fit your screws, CAREFULLY install windshield and fairing, ALL THE WHILE leaving a small gap for a drop or two of super glue to hold, tighten, allow to set overnight, disassemble next day, re-enforce "T" nuts with caulk or glue. Never have to worry about them again....

I used a 2 part epoxy called all craft from a good plumbing supply , water proof and easy to use , clean everything with brake clean put a longer bolt in the insert with grease on the bolt threads mix a little epoxy put in the hole , tap in the insert , let it dry 1 hour , then remove bolt and you are done forever !! This epoxy has never failed me no matter where i use it including my jet ski !

Most importantly, don't over tighten the screws when you put it back together.

"Snug" is good. Check them in a few days to make sure they're still "snug".
