Hi..
I have screaming eagle nightstick slip on exhaust on bike, has plates in end to baffle sound...
Is there any issues with removing these plates to make it louder????
Will it effect running or tuning in anyway???
Just after better sound and i hate the look of the plates....
Liam, take the baffles out and run your bike. Then decide if you prefer them back where they belong! You can tune that style of muffler by adding or taking out baffles, more will make them louder. Adding those mufflers probably effected the running and making further changes will effect it more. Does your bike have a tuner?
Has a stage 1 screaming eagle air cleaner and tuner that came with it...
Can take tuner to local workshop n tune it up, was just checking that bike would run ok without baffles, sounds perfect but havnt ridden yet... just started in shed...
Like it loud and hate how these discs look
Straight pipes run like crap but no reason you can't. Adding more disk will increase sound and still keep some back pressure.
I had the fatshotzs on one and the night sticks on another really liked them add a few disks.
Cheers... hopefully it wont run too bad... hate how those discs look..
Makes it more bulky and odd looking...
May run straight pipes for now n look into new pipes all together
It will run like crap, pop and bang then make your ears bleed. I tried it once on the same pipes when I went for a ride with my loud pipes loving buddies and could not get the discs back on fast enough
the nightstick has a solid core ( the fatshots have a perforated core) and tend to be louder and tinnier/raspier
compared with same disk type set up.
I am pretty familiar with these exhausts- what motor do you have, carb or efi, what header do you have?
for instance do you have a later model with the Oz valved exhaust header and catalytic converter?
the valved header will work to increase torque and we can use that as an advantage in tuning your exhaust for better result
you have solid endcap in place? how many disks in the stack.
ebay is a good source ( esp for Intl.) for supertrapp 4" disks and endcaps.
the 1.5" open end cap ( closed course/competition) with 10 to 12 disks will probably be close starting point for good performance- we kinda add or subtract 2 or 3 disks at a time and gauge the response.
all this assumes a tuner and open hi flow type air cleaner.
let us know what you got
these are called Snuf R Nots, they open and close with an allen key...quieter/ louder.
I may open these when riding with others, they can hear where I am without looking and know if I am slowing or accelerating

Has screaming eagle stage 1 air cleaner and tuner...
Running 10 discs each side with closed end cap..
Just want a loud exhaust with a nice note n rumble with a standard tip, no discs

Then the SE's are probably not for you. I had them on my last Dyna. Better than stock, but not much. A lot of backfiring on decel, and the note was simply "okay"
