Default 88 upgrade

New to the group from Colorado and looking for some solid information. I used a forum similar to this for my fire arms and I really like the solid feed back from knowledgeable owners.

My question for this group is I am looking to increase HP in my 02 RoadKing with an 88. In my search I am finding many different options. I currently have a Stage 1 and a mapping system and I am thinking about moving to a 95. Any suggestions on where to best research this for functionality and price?

This question has probably been posted before but I could not find the info I was looking for. Thanks in advance for the input.

Welcome from NY. There are some forum sponsors that have a solid reputation for engine mods. I have no experience using them, but the feedback on some of the threads is positive. Good luck with your decision.

I owned my '03 Heritage w/88 for 6 months before I went with the 95 big bore kit. I used the HD kit w/SE203 cams. It was a noticeable improvement over stock and my Stage 1. I used the HD Stage III download for a tune. It ran good for years.

In 2012 I added another bike to my garage and got a PowerVision tuner form FuelMoto for it. I also got an additional license for the '03 Heritage.

I re-flashed the '03 ECM with a DynoJet custom tune, set up for my bike/mods.... Wow, what a difference...!! Like a newer, better bike!

Yes a big bore kit will give you considerable increase in power..... If you use an HD kit (if they still make them), don't bother with the HD download, get a better tune....

FuelMoto, Hillside Cycles, and other supporting venders could hook you up with a well designed kit to bump up the size/performance of your 88.... Since matching the parts to work together is important... check in with one of them and let them guide you...

Good luck...

Welcome from the great Midwest. It's really not necessary to post the same question twice. Just give the Interwebs a minute or two to get your question posed and all will be well within the world!
