Default Accessory Switch

I am looking to add an accessory switch or 2 to my bike for to operate some added lighting. I really don't want to buy the high $$$ plug from HD. For those that have not used the HD switches, what did you use? Can you post some pics please? I'm looking for options/alternatives.

Thanks in advance.

more specific, what are you adding and where, what year and model bike?

how do you want to control this lighting on with bike or on all the time ( like leds highlighting a parked motorcycle)

You need to consider the load. High amperage loads need to go through a relay, but you can operate a relay with an accessory switch. The switch itself isn't rated for a high current load.

These aren't high amperage lights. Wanting to run some LED strobes. They will be under a fuse/relay from the battery.

I wired LED light on the front of my RG tothe stock accesorie switch. I bought a premade wriingt harness fromamazon the included a switch and relay. I ran the wiring along side all the stock wiring under the tank and into the fairing. I used my manual and found the acc. switch wires and used one of those crimp on wire connectors to the switch leg(from Acc. Sw.) and then used only the switch leg on the provided wiring harnes and plug it into the connector I installed. Presto we have light that work with the acc. switch.

Do you have any pics and part numbers by chance? I will be installing a total of 8 led strobes on this bike and want them to work off of a master switch that has it's on relay and fuse.

J&C Cycles sells a Double Rocker Switch that replaces the standard accessory switch on the bike. I have used one before with no problems and have one ready to go on my bike now whenever I get ready to do a couple of more mods.

Hope it helps
