Default motionpro clutch cable

Installing new bars and cables...

Installed the clutch cable and buttoned up everything exhaust... before installing the lever end of the cable into new chrome lever assy.

The problem is there is not enough slack in the cable to install into the lever assembly.

Was I supposed to install the lever end before reassembling the parts inside the side cover?

Thought you should not have to do that because its impossible to change levers out without complete disassembly?

Are you sure you've got the adjuster bottomed out? Is the other end of the cable actually seated in its groove in the arm?

I just did mine a week or so ago with 10" bars and a +2 clutch cable from Drag Specialties. I had no shortage of room to get the lever installed and, in fact, had to run the adjuster out much further than I wanted to get the thing set right.

cable is adjusted all the way for the most slack.

Just wondering if possibly something is a miss inside side cover? Either way guess I have to take it all apart again.

YEA.. YOU definitely do not have to remove the side cover if you were just changing levers...is the cable routing any different? i just replaced my side cover...the cable sits up high like in that pic... not really any slack adjustment there that i could see...did you verify that the need cable was indeed longer?

Turns out I just had to adjust the clutch under the derby cover.
Hills Customs had the answer.
