Of course people are unfamiliar with something right before they become familiar and that's underatandable, but...

When I hear something to the affect of "follow the brake lines", I think of this something like this...

Someone says "I'm trying to find out which side of the Toilet Tank the handle is on?"...
Someone else responds "Well, take off the tank lid and look for which side the lever is on"...
Whereas I say "Don't move now that your in front of toilet and look at it, now which side is the handle on?"

Here's another and you really don't need any bearing knowledge

How bout just looking at both side's bearing and spacer...
Do they look the same?...then NO ABS.
Do they look different?... then ABS

Did you bother to open the links and look at the parts diagrams for ABS and non ABS, or did you immediately go to the crapper?

I've been known to be guilty of going to the "crapper" quite a bit

If your serious about links and diagrams concerning wheels, spacers and bearing, I'm don't generally need to look at them because I deal them all the time. I tend to investigate interesting things (to me), that's why I've disassembled all the HD bearings specifically the OLD 3/4" and 1" x 21mm wide sealed bearings, ABS and the new 9276B bearing because they aren't traditional... The post wasn't for you it was to help someone who is new to ABS.

So was mine...

Seeing a wire going down past the caliper directly to a different looking wheel spacer along with different looking bearing should be the first clue of something being different (having ABS, that's different) without having to trace a brake line...simple

.

IIRC, some year models had ABS available as an upgrade. It required the security and abs upgrade as a combination. Could it be an upgrade that could be performed at the dealer, and therefore the abs light that is not currently in use? OP, does your bike have security (in other words do you need a FOB to start the bike)?
