Twin Cam potato-potato =Baked potatoTwin cam[sm=forgetit.gif]not enough oil flow at that low rpm
.
I know this is an old thread, just couldn't help-myself. 3 things to to consider, 1. Change that cam support plate and oil pump to something like I did, Fueling HiFlow plate and pump. That eliminates the "low flow" at lower idle. 2. Add a Thunder Max tuner., check your current voltage out put at the battery at idle, then dial down the idle rpms until the voltage starts to drop so you won't kill the battery charge while stuck in "traffic" etc. 3. Add a nice set of cams. I went with the highest lift/best cam that would bolt into my rig without going through the top side to get to them.
My cardiologist says if I could get my heart rate down to match the lope dialed into my bike, I might live long enough to wear those parts out and start over.
I had Red Shift cams installed last week and they sound pretty good. 107.8HP and 106.1 TQ Still not an evo
I finished up my mods a few months back, a part of that was Red Shift 511's. That was the largest lift etc. I could go with without reworking the top side too. They show-do sound good and compared to H/D stock have enough torque to pull that greasy string outta the cats hind-end,, so to speak. I'm happy with my NOS find cause as they say "Come on down" " The price is right"
Well crap , I guess I need to start looking at the dates b4 I reply huh? So what is an appropriate amount of time for a post to be untouched b4 you treat it as a sleeping dog and let it lie ?
Just having a bit of fun at your expense 🤣
Welcome to the forum and buckle up!!
Anybody know how to get that good old potato-potato idle out of a fuel injected twin cam motor ????? Id give anything to get the sound of my old evo heritage in my SG.
yes the El Potato IAC will help with EFI. The IAC on Harley TC is garbage. I installed the El Potato and love the manual idle adjustment. I left the factory IAC connected and zip tied it out of way. Install manual IAC. Well worth $184. Keep in mind that you do not want to idle less than 950 rpm for long periods of time due to oil pressure.
