You will lose a pound or two when you remove the extension but you should be able to work out how much the first time you use it. Compensate for the loss by adding a little extra air. Easy to carry with you and it'll enable you to use the air at any gas station.
My concer with the extension would be exactly what several of the reviewers report. Loss of air while attaching and removing it.
I check tire pressure in the garage before I leave the house. I find that once I have the stem properly positioned (for me) getting the chuck and guage on and off is not that bad. Besides, you still have to get the extension on and off in the same tight quarters.
I believe that if I wanted an extension I'd make my own using a hose with a lever lock on the stem end and attach a Schrader valve to the other end. I think that would make attaching to the valve stem much easier than screwing one ond and result in a lot less loss.
i use the harley extension. i have had zero issues with losing pressure when connecting/disconnecting the extension. you might lose 1/10 lb of pressure, unless of course you decide to stop and have a beer while in the middle of unscrewing it.
