CONGRATS ON THE NEW RIDE!!!!!! letem call ya a geezer, you'll be ridin in style. one of my friends used to call my RK a road couch. he stopped when we (barry,me,and our wives ) went for a long ride and barrys wife couldnt ride home on his bike her @ss hurt so bad. she made him go out and buy a new seat that day. you'll love it when it gets there...
Thanks for the encouragement and kudos! I won't get the bike until March or April, so I'll be hanging around this site quite a bit in the coming months. Not a bad place to be with all the great members like we have. It will take a bit of posting to catch up with all of Gary's (Springer) posts, but it will be fun trying and you couldn't find a better person to aspire to catch up with. I would have spent the off-season wrenching on my Deluxe, but since I'll be selling it, I won't have to. Ape & Scott, thanks for posting pics of your bikes because the color looks so much better than on the HD website, and it looks even better in person. By the way Ape, it looks like you have your bike parked in a prison camp!!! LOL
I'll be 50 in November (cards and presents will be accepted) and have been riding a bagger since I was 21. I just figured somebody had to carry the beer[sm=icon_cheers.gif].
We have just enought time to convince you that you'll need to spend several more thousand dollars customizing your bike when it gets here.
Terry
P.S. When it's too cold to ride it's time to start spending more money on your bike.
I gotta tell you, it's great on a trip to set the cruise, turn up the stereo, keep an ear open for wrecks or cops on the cb and most of all, not have to fight the wind. Wife can ride as long as I can and never complains about a sore a$$. I'd never ride anything but an EG. Let em call it a geezer glide. When you go on a long trip and you get there fresh as a daisy and they have to go lay down or rest because they're tired, then ask them if they can keep up with the geezer.
Actually, it's already started and the Minnesota Wild won the first game of the season the other night. I hope they keep it up! We need it to keep us sane in the winter months!

Terry, I'm right behind you as I turned 46 in August. As far as spending money, I've already purchased over $1,000 worth for the new bike and haven't even gotten it yet, so I know how that goes! I had ordered stuff for my Deluxe and it had already arrived at the dealer, so rather than pay a restock fee I traded it in for Bagger stuff. I've got lots of stuff in mind and I'm going to lean on you guys for knowledge and ideas, if you don't mind.
If you don't want to wait until March or April, search the country and find your bike now and go on a road trip and buy it. I searched all of the tri-state area in 04 until I found a Viviv Black Ultra. They were all marked up with extra's and I wanted one bone stock. I did the search and found one in Nashville and bought it the next month. I gave the deposit over then phone and went and wrote a check the next day. I would not have entertained the thought of waiting 4-5 months for a bike....I wanted it then. I upgraded from a 92 softail and I'm not looking back.
Scott, they actually have one in stock at my dealer, but the season is about over here in Minnesota and I still have to sell my '05 Deluxe, so that's why I'm waiting until spring. I'll get more for my bike then and I won't have to pay for two bikes to sit in the garage all winter. Wish I could take the winter off and go south for 6 months!
