Here is a quick way to check your motor mount. At idle, slide a business card between the top bracket & rubber bushing. If the card gets pinched the bushing is shot.

on my 06 sg the front mount broke in 6 months, but i did'nt notice it until changing regulator. had the new and improved one put on and the bike shakes 40% more than it did before, and now the fairing brackets brake constantly. also after oil change don't clean that area with carb spray, eats the rubber, brake cleaner works better.
Quick story:
At 8800 miles, while idling at a traffic light, I heard a loud metal against metal hammering sound. I immediately pulled over to investigate. What I discovered was that the oil filter housing at the front of the engine was banging on the voltage regulator cover due to the front of the engine sagging...the result of a totally blown out motor mount.
