This weekend, I replaced my compensator with a Baker unit and noticed that the stock chain tensioner on my bike had a couple grooves on top of it were the chain makes contact.
After I installed the new compensator and rotor, I did notice an improvement in the rattling I was hearing. I took it out for a short cruise and it was remarkable how much better the bike seemed to shift. But... I was stupid and reused the stock chain tensioner. I have since order the Baker attitude adjuster and it's on the way.
Could this possibly be the source of the noise I am still hearing? There's a vast improvement in the noise I was hearing, but I'm still hearing a rattling noise and it's driving me nuts!!
I'm going to have to get back to you on that Mark. I only took a very short ride on Sunday. I was hearing it when riding and didn't do a thorough test like I should have.
I'll take a ride tonight and listen when the clutch is engaged, disengaged and at idle. I'll even post a video.
OK, did a little test last night on my bike. At idle and in neutral, I hear a very slight rattle that seems to increase in volume when I rev the bike. It does the exact same thing when riding. I'm trying to get a video posted that I made, but I'm having a problem getting it off my phone.
Stand by for update.

Hard to tell, may just be the chain wearing onto the new sprocket. Some times they wear in sometimes the chain needs to be replaced. These Harley gear sets are also notorious for having what's known as "neutral rattle" it's just excessive lash in the gear set. It won't really hurt anything but it can be annoying.

Thank you Mark. Yes, I've heard of neutral rattle, although, I've never really known what it sounds like.
I guess I'll wait for my attitude adjuster to show up and when it does, I'll get it installed and take another listen. If it's still rattling, time for a new chain!
