I swear by the heavier Shook Proof Redline oil in all the tranny's I've owned up until the new '07's, but is there any concern as far as using it in the newer 6 speed '07 tranny's due to HD going to a lighter tranny oil then previous year models and the tighter tolerance's they are using?? Nobody has been able to answer this for me in the past....Putt
I've been running Heavy Shock in my tranny since I got the bike and it shifts great, but after several attempts at adjusting the clutch and primary, I still have a tough time finding neutral. Someone suggested replacing the Heavy with Light or some other lighter weight but good quality synthetic. Anyone had that experience, i.e. going to a lighter weight oil helping them find neutral?

Tater, I had the same problem when i bought my bike. I drained out what was in it and put in RedLine SYn 75/80 I use it in my 4X4 rears so it was on hand. That helped a little but still was tuff. I have since put in BelRay 85/140 and have no issues what so ever finding neutral anymore. I'll switch over to Amsoil 75/140 when the Belray gets used up since i get it at dealer cost. I also did try the Amsoil 20/50 in it and that was horrible. My old tranny didn't like that move at all. HTH, Bryan
Yep! Pepto bismol in the XMSN is the ****. Have had mine in for a year now and has always shiffted quieter and easier than with anything else. Finding neutral is easy

Belray you say? Where did you get it? Reckon the Amsoil 75/140 will work as good for you as the Belray? Sure would like to solve this problem. Again, the Redline runs great, but if changing it will help me find neutral, I'll make the change.
I used heavy shockproof in my HD RK and the bike responded very well. Redline doesn't recommend the light stuff for HD's. I have a couple of extra qts of the heavy shock proof I'd like to sell at 1/2 price plus shipping. Email me if interested.

I had picked up the Belray when i was buying my S&S 510 G cam kit from Dennis Kirk. I needed Dot5 brake fluidand figured I would try the BelRay products, heard great things about them. The 85/140 is also a Hypoid GearOil. Go to a Metric shop, I know mylocal Honda and Yamaha shop has it,they use it in the shaft drive bikes.
