Planning to do longer travels and overnights with the wife this year. Debating on adding a rack on top of the trunk? Those that have added, do you regret? Do you end up adding too much weight up high or those with stock, do you wish it wasnt there?
Use mine all the time... Love it, got the HD case that fits right on the rack. I got the led lighted one, looks nice.

I have one never used it till last summer out east for a month.
A buddy has one of these- I see how it could be useful for a wife/gf to pack their clothes in, remove when you get to the hotel. Less space eaten up in the saddlebags and tourpak. They make a soft version of it for $100ish.
I use mine anytime I go on a road trip. Like everyone else has posted, keep the top loading light and it won't be a problem. it's great to have that extra storage bag!
Mine is the front bike.(hard to see my tour pack and luggage on the rack) 8 day, 2500 mile tour. I actually stopped at an HD dealer in Slidell MS and had them ship my dirty clothes home. it rained every day and the luggage on top made it easy to get in and out of the rain gear.
u mean u have the airwing rack with the led lights ? if so what bag fits on that as it is quite a bit smaller than the stock rack... i.m lookin
I had the airwing on my previous bike and have used the tour-pak luggage (93300006) and it works perfectly. The bag has a hard-liner in the base, a built-in and attached rain cover and several outer pockets. It has attachment points on all 4 corners and is rock-solid on cross country trips. I wouldn't part with it for a full-price offer (well, maybe I would but I'd buy a new one)
We use it on longer trips. We have one of the HD bags that fastens right to the rack and it works great. Like someone else mentioned, make sure no straps or anything rub on the paint. Our bag has a rain cover with a draw string that will rub on the paint, so I tuck it way up inside. We normally put all of our overnight stuff in that bag and use the one empty saddle bag for reserve clothing storage. We just pop the rack bag off when we stop each night. The other saddle bag is dedicated to our rain gear, small tool kit, and a tire kit.
Traveling with a women you need all the space you can get. The rack comes in very handy. And don't hurt a thing when you don't need it. We have 4 different bags we have acquired over the years and use the one that fits our needs at the time.
It will hold more that 15 pounds also.
Anyone that uses their wrack on their tour pack for traveling and attach a bag or have even thought of doing this will benefit from looking into the company RICKRACK.com. Found them at Myrtle Beach. They are a father/son duo that have really come up with some great ideas for our baggers....
+1. I have the large TBag on a rickrack rack. It is fantastic. The lock works well and it is easy to take off to the hotel room etc. Like others have said, you have to pack the heavier stuff in the tour pack and be careful not to torque the lid when opening with the rack and bag attached. Rickrack has it figure out for sure.
