Default Bike Cover

How many of you take a bike cover on trips? We are going to be taking some week long trips this summer and was just wondering.

TIA

not worth the space.

at the end of the riding day ( by 5pm if you want choice of rooms in busy areas like way to Sturgis), drape a wet cloth or towel over the front of the bike for 30 minutes to loosen the bugs.
then clean up.

So far I do, I use it at work every day also.
Between the rain the dam seagulls..... keeps the bike cleaner and dryer.
It's the Oasis day cover not the full length one.

I do not. My bike is dirty after riding the first day. Add to that, I always get rained on. I don't want to put anything against the dirt and scratch my paint all up. After 8 to 10 hours of riding, I'm not cleaning. I bring garbage bags to cover the seat in case (inevitable) of rain. Plus, like mkguitar said, don't want to waste the room in the bags for it.

I use a plain cover on trips only - more to hide the bike from the curious than to protect it from the elements. I just bungee it to the top of the tail bag.

I used to take mine but have since stopped.

I thought of it as a theft deterrent but have since beefed up on smaller items such as the alarm siren, disc lock, and cable to wrap the wheels together. Everything else I take out/off the bike and into the motel. I also, leave the bags unlocked because I don't need a 14 year old with a screw driver causing hundreds of dollars in damage to realize they are empty.

As for my saddle bags not walking off I use SaddlebagSecure from Brakus. Sure they can be screwed right off with a secure-bit but I guess I'm banking on thieves not having specialty tools with them.

I do not. I do carry a seat rain cover and rain proof cover for the front fairing.

I don't. Like the others stated it takes up room, the bike is trashed after the first day, I always hit at least enough rain to mess the bike up. I do cover the seat at night with a trash bag so I don't have swamp *** in the morning.

I took it on one three week trip and only used it as a tent in a hail storm north of Thermopolis Wy. but may take it to SoCal next week.

I bought a cheap $25 cover from Walmart I use just for traveling. Folds up so small its not an issue, unlike the HD cover. Keeps prying eyes away.
