the floorboard is make to pivot away from ground contact, but the mounts if they contact hard can relieve traction from the rear tire and the bike will slide out
I have the tall boys and agree with Tri-J: good stuff. I'm 6.2 and was never comfortable until I lowered the boards: knees were higher than my hips. (I have a C&C solo seat.) I also added CycleSmith Banana boards. All pricey, but I'm very happy. Nice look, I think.
Re dragging, Mike is right that dragging non-hinged hard parts is a serious issue and the outside corner of the rear bracket is known to drag. It can be ground down some, if needed. I have not dragged mine in about 2-years riding, however, but I think that's because I'm a wimp when it comes to leaning this beast over.
Another Tall Boys/Cycle Smiths fan here. They really help a lot. Yes, on the lean angle, so I trimmed the left side mount a bit. Since then the boards touch before the hard parts, so it's a good tell tale.
However, you will need to replace the brake lever with a lower extended version (Softbrake).
