I wonder if these guys who state they shift their 07s into 6th at 55MPH actually ride them. 55MPH in 6th is LESS THAN 2000 RPM. You areon the lowest final drive ratio bike HD has ever produced by far. Regardless of what the numbers indicate, or whether you have a tach, the bike SCREAMS to you that you are lugging it as soon as you open the throttle.
I think what you are asking is what rpm are you at? I notice in fifth gear I dont hit 3000 rpm until around 65 mph,I assume you know to shift by the fell of the bike not by the speedometer or tach,if it lugs downshift if it winds out upshift, when you ride your bike enough you will know when to shift...
Over 70; why would anyone want to cruise at a speed where your bike has no power when you twist the grip? What fun is that? For a RKC peak power is at 3500 RPM. I have found the most fun and the least amount of shifting is when I cruise 60-70 in 5th and 70+ in 6th...Nd you're still way under 3500 RPM.
Stock, I hated 6th gear and never used it....after I installed the t-max auto tune, I love 6th, use it constantly , I can
go into 6th at 50, but I wine it up a little and find myself mostly going in at 55. I can run all day long at 50-60 if I want......stock, I had to maintain 70+ to use it and didn't like it.
