I sold my goldwing to a friend and he recently had Metzler me880's put on. The wing handled much better. I ust replaced the rear tire on my ultra with a Dunlop. When its time for both front and rear replacementit will be Metzler.
I got new Mets 880....about 3 weeks ago and have put on about 400 niles and the ride is really improved from the orig Dunlops. Grooves in the pavement, bridges, and conering are much improved. SometimeI feel likeI am on a rail. Make sure you check the tire presssure to keep max. performance.
My buddy just put dunlop 3's on his and couldn't belivee how much better it road and handled, I'm leaning toward them for my bike when the stockers wear out.
I'll probably need tyres after my Europe trip this month, but looking around the only tyres I can find with the same or better load rating on my 07 RK are the Avon Venoms.
If you run loaded with a tyre of the wrong load rating you run the risk of a catastrophic tyre failure, and if caught whatever your equivalent offence is for 'Using a vehicle in a dangerous condition'
I would advise against ignoring load/speed ratings for your tyres.
Metzeler 880s are a very noticible diference over the stock Dunlops. The first ride I took on them I could tell how much better they griped the road. I have about 3000 miles on them now and am constantly impressed with their performance. You have to run 45 back 40 front in them to get good millage.
