Default front brake pad life

Just pulled my front wheel at 18,800 miles. Front pads are worn down over 3/4 of the way. Might as well get new pads.

Does 19,000 sound about average for front pad life?

I dont know about average, but doesnt sound unreasonable to me. Very easy to change, so even at half that, not a big deal.

Recently pulled my front brake calipers expecting to replace pads. I had the new replacements on the bench ready to go. With calipers off it revealed all pad wear was minimal. Reinstalled calipers without replacing pads.

The bike is a 14 SGS with abs brakes. It has 17000 miles on it. I ride it two up mostly.

Or you can do the tire and then you can buy new pads and put them in too

You can save a lot of money doing it yourself if you enjoy working on your bike.

Already pulled the wheel off as I only take the wheel in for a tire to be mounted. I don't let dealers touch my bike other than wheel mounting and balancing. Replacing pads is no problem. Done it on all my bikes.

My rotors usually warp before my pads wear down.

Default front pad wear

Front pad wear can vary a little from rider to rider. I've got 113K miles on my 2013 and have changed the fronts one time.

I just checked them a couple of weeks ago and they should be good for another 30k.

You must not be a 90% front brake user? That's a lot of life out of brake pads.
Get your money out of those pads.
