Default New scoot

After trading the Street Glide on a Fatboy Low, then on to a Low Rider S, I have come around to the bagger side again. Just picked up my new 17 Road King Special. Love the engine, hate the clutch. Great riding bike though. Just have to get used to all the extra weight.

I saw one just like it at the dealer recently, it was their very first RKS.
Very nice, hope you enjoy it.
What's your deal with the clutch?

Congrats! Nice color choice too. The silver makes the black motor really stand out.

The new clutches (hydraulic) don't start to grab till the very last maybe 1/4 to 1/2"of lever travel. They say you'll get used to it, but it seems to me they could have made it a little more "normal".

My favorite new paint offering by HD. Beautiful bike and hope you get used to that clutch. I was just yesterday drooling over a Road Guide Ultra with that color while at a dealership but at present that is all I can afford.

I have a 15 king and it was the last of the touring family to keep the cable clutch. I notice in 17 they finally added the hydraulic clutch to the kings, so I will keep mine forever. I know I will eventually have to get on board with that clutch, but I want to wait until they get it ironed out first.

Sorry for the deletion.. I was saying, that is a beautiful bike for sure. The clutch on my 2016 RGU is much stiffer than on my 2011 Limited.. is the 16 & 17 the same clutch? I've noticed some hand fatigue at long lights and the 16 doesn't slide right in to neutral like the 2011. I probably will get used to it.

Switch to adjustable levers will fix that.
I use Oberon levers on my 2014, other companies make em too.

Beautiful bike, congrats!!!

I think the clutch will grow on you. For me it's different, and it took some getting used to, but it's not bad.
