really. ordered the fix my hog dvd to compliment my fact manual. with all the love bugs i first noticed the bugs off section. he states " do not use awx ect on your windshield....use only a HIGH QUALITY GLASS CLEANER AND PAPER TOWELS???????????????????????? .....WHAT???? is he really saying use windex and paper towels??? isnt that like a huge nono???
startin to wonder how accurate the rest of the DVD is.
I bought the Tour version for our E Glides, and then got the Bolt on DVD.
Both are very good as an addition to the Service Manual and some not so good bolt on fact sheets. Some of the simple things that would cause a hemmi to pop get covered in the DVD. Example. 'Tape your EVO front fender while removing th caliper, It's real, real close to scraping the paint.' When you watch it, follow it and realize 'damn, that is close to the fender edge', makes it kinda worth the investment. Besides, if and when the time comes, it adds to the package of collaterals that you can offer for your bike if your are changing model lines.
Windshield or any clear plastic or lens for that matter should always be cleaned with a cotton towel - diaper (remember what they were?), kitchen towel, etc along with a good plastic cleaner like Novus, Plexus, etc. Even liquid car wax works well - only cotton towel though - paper towel will scratch the plastic eventually.
I have been using wax on my windshield for years and currently have it on both sides of my SG windshield and the bugs come right off and I dont have any scratches at all. I use the micro fiber type cloth to take off the wax.
