Been a minute since I have posted here, busy since retirement! Anywho, I'm getting ready for a bucket list trip ride to Sturgis this summer. My bike is a 2017 RKS and right at 50K miles. I am having a big service done, don't trust myself with much of it. Part of the service will be fork oil replacement. Years ago when I did my '05, heavy weight oil was recommended. I was much heavier then, like almost 100 pounds heavier. Today I am just at 200 fully geared up. I tour mostly by myself and although I ride fairly aggressive, not nearly so much as I used to as I close in on 60 years old. (floorboards on my '05 were ground down to the edges) That being said, I'm looking for thoughts and experiences with standard vs heavy fork oil in the newer models for a 200 lb rider doing long distance touring. Thoughts?
