Hey all I come from the softail page to ask a question , I have a Heritage that I am about to put a Memphis shades fairing on and im wondering if these wind deflectors that go on the sides of the fairing do anything to help or not? one person I know wont have a bike without them. a few people I know don't care / don't want them. just trying to decide if I want to get them or not. whats your guys opinions? since you know.... you have fairings I don't lol

I have the adjustable ones on mine....LOVE them....I have had the non adjustable and like the adjustable much better to swing them straight on hot days and then flip them out on colder days.
Ride without them......then put them on and decide for yourself.....

Ive heard good things about he adjustable ones but due to the fact im using a Memphis shades fairing I can only use Memphis shades deflectors, other brands wont fit. so its kind of a all or nothing kinda gig

I suggest you ride without them, then decide.
Differences in wind are easiest noted in cold temps. You can move your ungloved hand around and easily feel where the cold air is coming from. For example, with my Road King Fairing, I was getting a good bit of cold air coming over the front of the fuel tank. Installed the lower fork baffle, poof - it was gone. Then I noted cold air hitting my knees, and installed the fork deflectors - poof, it was gone. (Well, it was better)

I was in your spot four months ago. I have a Street glide. I wanted the wind that was coming up underneath the fairing sides and hitting me in the chest to stop completely or at least get deflected out and around my arms/elbows.

I purchased the adjustable ones from Harley and was disappointed. They do help with wind deflection, but it is minimal. I was expecting more to be honest. With them on, it did reduce the wind hitting me in my chest but again, minimal.

As far as deflection on my arms. The wind that was hitting my on my forearms, hits to just about my elbow now. So minimal deflection.

On a scale of 1 to 10 for the actual wind deflection with them on vs with them off is about a 2.

I don't know about that particular brand, but yes, they help a lot. I used mine extensively. They're not the end-all, but I enjoyed mine.

I had a Memphis batwing on my VTX many years back, they did help me a lot. I would recommend them.

Also had them on my Electra glide, and loved them.

Another satisfied user of t the adjustable deflectors. They certainly don't block all the air but they do make a difference. I had the fangs also but took them off because I didn't like the look and was afraid they would reduce airflow over the engine in hot weather. I replaced the fangs with Part #58520-79TC (front fork air baffle) and I'm happy with the combination of the two.

They work well with the Memphis batwing, The Kury fork lowers (fangs) work better.
