I installed some Screamin' Eagle pro performance slip-ons a couple months ago. Bike ran fine with a nice rumble. After reading in here and talking to my dealer, Ive purchased a SE Race Fueler. The dealer said my bike would run leaner and hotter if I didnt install the race fueler. He said most customers do not bother unless the bike pops and hesitates. Mine did not however when pulling the plugs to foam the cylinders, I noticed the plugs were very white at the burn tips. I am guessing that this means I am running way too lean. Is this correct? Its a 2005 EFI model RK. I think I am happy knowing Ive got this race fueler to install next spring. Ive been told that adjustments for richening the fuel flow will be taken care of at that time. Will I see an increase in performance by just installing the race fueler with the slip ons installed? or do I need to change the air intake too? Please advise.

I put the Ovals, a Big Sucker, and a Power Commander on my '04 RK and have been very happy.

Last week I had the SE Air Intake and the Pro SE Pipes installed with the remap. I asked the shop guy about any possible popping and he said it may do that because the fuel may not burn as efficient as it should. He said the Chip Remap is really only for the air intake and not for the pipes. He also mentioned that the guys up front (sales counter) don't tell you that to do it "right" you have to do the dyno test which cost about $700. So now I'm wondering if the engine will be running too lean/hot or if the remap of the air intake handles this problem? I may just want to keep the stock pipes if it will run more efficient.

A $700 dyno run? Get a new dealer!!!

With intake/breather and slip ons, the HD remap should do just fine...and for a helluva lot less than any $700.

I have an 06 SE Ultra and quickly changed to Rinehart True Duals, a SE stage I air filter and placed a PCIII usb on the bike. I was concerned about a program download for the bike and decided on Dynojet's Screamin Eagle Road Glide with Vance Hines slip ons and a Ness Big Sucker air cleaner. The bike ran well with this substitute download (I didn't even find anything close to my setup on their website).

I brought my bike to Eastern Performance and they said that I would have to reflash the chip for this setup along with the Power Commander. When they tried to find the download for the ECM they said they didn't have one for a 06 103 cube engine. I called my HD dealer about this and spoke to one of their wrenches. He told me that I didn't have to reflash the ECM and that the Power Commander would be able to take care of the fuel and air needs of my setup. So I brought it back to Eastern Performance, had it custom mapped on their Dyno and have been happy ever since. The bike runs really well with no popping. I'm just wanting to see what fuel mileage I'll get out of it. Hope that helps. Smitty

If they are charging $700.00 for a dyno test THEY ARE THIEVES. Most dyno tests run $100-$200. Think about it....most shops charge $60-$90 bucks per hour. If it takes them that long they are inexperienced at using dyno and want you to subsidize their training session.
My last dyno run cost me $100.00

One local shop with a dynojet 250 dyno has a scaled price. This model is important to have if you want tune an EFI bike.
A straight pull/run with no Air Fuel ratio $39 a run with Air Fuel ratio $69 and a full tune with a PCIII on the bike is $250. Ultimately you can do more with the SERT but the PCIII makes it easy for them since if they have a dyno jet 250 dyno and an additional software package with interface to the PCIII it basically maps the PCIII automatically (they almost can't screw it up and will map the PCIII correctly) Even with the Model 250 dyno allowing a variable load and tuning with a SERT it will take longer and more pulls/runs since the Mapping must be entered manually and the reloaded to the ECM. I could understand a shop charging $300-400 for this remember they must pay the tech and for the equipment. If it's an HD dealer with a 250 dyno then it's possible to see a SERT installed with dyno tune for $700 and that would be reasonable.
