As there is no real performance benefits removing the cat, (strictly a reduction in heat adding comfort to riders), buuuut as you no longer have the cat "that also acted like a resonator", sound is slightly louder giving the illusion of going faster.
A decatted OEM pipe will flow better than an unaltered one. That's a fact my friends. The OP already had a tuner, indicating he already had more fuel. The decatting of the pipe just allowed the bike to take better advantage of the additional fuel. I don't doubt for a second he's got a bit more power.
As much as we think the bikes run "better" without the conveter, they don't. They just feel faster because you and your passenger's right leg is not being cooked!
And your decision is based on ??? Dyno sheets,link or documentation?? Just wondering how you came to this conclusion.
I did a cat removed on my 2010 ultra and I don't care what they say the damn thing runs better. Now it can breathe better it's all about cam through the motor
If you removed your cat and you noticed no gain then you must have something else not quit right. On the new 107 if you remove the cat the stock head pipe is so close to a 2-1-2 aftermarket header you would not believe it. Not knocking fuel Moto at all because I use them on about everything but there new 2-1-2 header for the 107 uses the stock cross over pipe so how could that be much of a difference. Just saying that decanting on the 107 does help performance. My bike runs so good that I am not so sure I will not leave it bone stock other than slipons and heavy breather.

Cat converters are on there because the gvmnt says they go on there. They produce cleaner exh emissions. They absolutely hurt performance. They cause excess heat. They are restrictive. Plus, I like loud. With these jerks in their cars not paying attention. When I roll by, I want em to think a P51 just landed on em. Non cat bikes are louder. We like Loud.
Changing many performance manufactured header pipes will always show these type of gains over one another by simple flow design restrictions, has nothing to do with cat vs. no cat comparisons on same header pipe. Need to keep it apples to apples to be fair IMHO.
