I just became the proud owner of a 2013 FLHTK LIMITED. The original owner bought it new in 2012, but soon began back and forth trips to the middle east, as a contractor and only put 1254, miles on the bike.
He did not have head phones, so I bought a pair. I can get the radio and CB to come through the head phones, but I cannot get the intercom to work. I get the display to say "intercom ON". When we press the transmit buttons, nothing comes through.
HELP! Any help in getting the procedure will be appreciated. I have scoured the owner's manual, but no joy.
I have a 2010 Limited, always used the intercom with headsets the first couple of years when the wife rode a lot with me, lately been just riding solo.
I suspect your volume level when you're in intercom mode is probably turned all the way down. The volume in Intercom mode is a separate volume setting than the music mode when you're playing music though the CD/radio/Aux input. When you're in intercom mode just try raising the front and rear volume buttons. Or, maybe try pressing your front and or rear press to talk buttons.

The intercom is VOX activated, don't need to use the PTT button. I would agree that you have the intercom/CB volume set too low also. There are detailed instructions in the owners manual on how to operate the Intercom/CB. Once you get things set up and get the hang of it you will like it for those long trips two up and when others have a CB.
