Even a small change at say the trans pulley can require a new belt, which ain't cheap! The range of options available to us are actually quite limited, compared with chain sprockets, so the variations are not many. There was a time, with TC88s and Evos in particular, when there were several optional compensators, which gave us much wider variety, but later bikes don't have that choice.
