Default anyone replaced a drive belt

had a close look at my drive belt and it seems like it has had a stone in there as the sproket and belt has a bit of damage to the teeth, the bike has 39,578 mls, on the clock, so i'm going to replace it soon, i know i have to remove the primary and clutch pak and rear cover off, is there anything to watch when removing the swing arm. ( once the wheel is out.)

You don't have to completely remove the swingarm. The pivot axle only has to be slid back until the belt can clear.

It's the primary internals(comp nut and clutch pak) that are the real joy to the project.

Any tips on this part of it? While I don't need to replace my drive belt, I've got to pull my outer/inner primary to adjust my shift lever on the transmission pawl so that my jockey shifter will clear the rear Samson headpipe.

I know I'll need new gaskets, but I just really don't want a leaky inner primary seal against the transmission and crankcase...

That wasn't the tip I was looking for buddy! And trust me....no self respecting chrome-***** would take the primary apart and not at least consider that option!

May not entirely apply to your year, but have a look at this, compare it to what's in the SM and then have at 'er.
