Anyone have problems with there shifting arm striping out. This happened to my 2014 SGS had to fix it on the side of the road. It just happened to my new ultra low with 14000 miles same thing. I got it to a dealer and they replaced the part right away. You would think by now they would use a better part.
That lever is softer metal so it wears instead of the shaft - You can get the "Better Lever" It's pricey , but it works - you can try opening up the gap on the stock one so it clamps harder on the shaft. Eastcoast Jim
I am going to have to fix mine one day but for now I shift very very lightly. Being that I will have to pull the inner primary I am trying to get through another season. I would think there would be a better quality one on the marke being that this is such a common problem.

Pricey for sure, I think it's over 200.00 if I am not mistaken. I guess it's good that it's softer but I with it wasn't designed that the inner primary had to come off to replace it.
Had the same issue on my '14 Limited at around 30k. They also had to replace the rear lever. However, I am at 90k now and haven't had any additional issues.
I also suggest checking it OFTEN, like giving it a shake every week or so. The idea being to catch it before it strips completely and leaves you stranded.
It happened to my Softail around 185,000 miles, but I caught it in time and was able to save it. Been fine since, but I check it any time I'm around that part of the bike.
