Hi. I am fairly new to this forum (my 1st post here!). I bought a new 2005 Ultra in June, and have put nice "upgrades" to it (Stage 1, bunches of chrome, etc.), but my eyes are watering for a new SE Ultra. Anybody have any experience with these units to tell me that I am not making a mistake? These babies are wickedly expensive!
AFAIK, you said it all in your last sentence. Money, including what you'd lose on your '05 Ultra.
Is the SE an '05 or '06? Do the EPA changes on the '06 concern you?
No doubt the SE Ultra is the "creme de la creme" and one fine bike.
Good luck and let us know what you decide. Art
The SE Ultra is the best of the best for touring bikes, and it's wickedly expensive like you said. If money is no object, you shouldn't be disappointed.
I have a 2004 SE Electra Glide, to me it's worth the extra bucks. The 103's performance is outstanding and if I trade it will be for another CVO tour bike.
Thanks for all your replies. I do have the 95 inch, but I hope I feel better punch with the 103. I have a 2006 SE ordered...Autumn Haze, set for delivery in Feb or March. I am getting a reasonable trade for my 2005 Ultra, but you can imagine what a beating I am going to take anyway with all the extra goodies I have invested in it.
I have been waiting for My SE Ultra to come in ( 3 weeks late ) I would not trade in your bike, I would try and sell it on your own, ( Paper, Ebay, ) when I first went to the dealer they told me they would give me 17,000 for my 03 custom and I mean custom AIH outlaw, I sold it on my own for 25,000 and the phone still rings with people wanting to buy it.......... just my 2 cents.............
