Does the pcv come with the splices? Or was this something the previous owner did. Had the bike for a few years. Called dynojet, but they didn't seem to know what I.was talking about.
It's curently drying. When rain water gets under the seat it doesn't work. I have dialectic grease around the plug not in pins. The sheaths were held together with electrical tape which were coming loose that's when I pulled it back. Found the wires, where the spices are, were wet. So wondering if water is getting in there? Even though the heat shrink seems good. This whole water thing started happening a year ago intermittantly. When it gets wet it either doesn't start or loses all power while driving. Unplug the pc and it's to go and plug it back in after it dries its also fine.
i had similar issue with pcv, not spliced wires but acting up in moist temps.. got stranded coming home from sturgis in rain. took it out of loop and ran the 800 miles home without it. did not worry about tune due to rain and cooler temps. this was on a 2010.
Called Fuel Moto with questions about fp3 and powervision. Spoke to Brian and he asked what was wrong with my PCV. He said it sounds like a ground issue and said to try and tweak the ground pin on the PC plug that connects to plug coming from the bike. He also stated that some of the plugs on the 08-13 touring bikes were not as good quality as other years and there is a very small percentage that they will have issues with piggy back tuners. I didn't buy the pc from them so I was very thankful that they they helped me trouble shoot even though I was ready to buy a flash tuner!
Needless to say I still had issues with the PCV and ordered a Power Vision with a FM map. Got it installed and seems to be running better than ever!
