Default Heel/Toe Shifter Question

Is there such a thing as different length heel/toe shifter levers. I need a longer heel lever for my 97 Road King. With my foot sitting comfortably on the foot rest, the front of my foot is under the toe lever and the back of my foot is against the heel lever. Whenever I want or need to down shift, I have to slide my foot out off the footrest in order to be able to get the front of my foot on top of the toe lever to do it.

I noticed the the heel lever is sitting about 2 1/2" shorter than the back of the foot rest. I would think that it should sit right to the back or a little beyond.

There are these:

I'm sure there are other 3rd party ones as well. Google is your friend.

Thanks GalvTex Guy.
My first Harley so I'm learning. Just googled and found a bunch of them.

I was having the same trouble and this made a huge difference. Cheap enough to try if you wanted to.

There are many options you may consider.
I went with E-Z Brake system and replaced all the arms.
I did a 1 inch longer on the toe control and 2 inches longer on the heal control.
Installed new shifting pegs that provided better contact.
I also replaced the shaft with an all stainless steel version (with grease fitting - issues) and replaced the cheap rubber spacer with a spring loaded spacer (got rid of the rattle at the shifter).
E-Z Brake is a supporting vendor and you will find him in the Vendor For Sale Classifieds section.
Good luck with your decision...

The heel shifter on my CVO is longer than what my SGS had. Took the one off my SGS as it was always in the way. I only use toe to shift. Was going to remove the one on the CVO, but since it isnt as short and in the way, left it on.

Yea, I've been a toe shifter always till I got this 2010 Ultra, kind of like it with heel shifter on. I did find a hinged heel shifter on HD site, thought of that.

There's one on my '08 Yamaha tourer that is one piece that I really like although it is a 1 piece unit and very well proportioned. If only I could find one like that with listed dimensions for my RK.

The problem I am running into with my RK is that although I am finding all kinds of front and rear levers for my RK, I am not finding any kind of length dimensions so I can get the length I need.
