Bullshit!!!!! It is amazing that the two best shocks are the two that you sell. I'm sure that's just a coincidence. I'm not affiliated with anyone, have bought all my suspension with my money and disagree. I've owned Ohlins #3-#3 & #6s, JRi, Ricor, Progressive 940 and have ridden bikes set up for my weight with Bitubo, Super Shox and Pro Action on them. Ohlins #6 are the best hands down, Ohlins #3-#3 would be second. JRi, Super Shox, Pro Action and Bitubo were all on a similar level and all a great improvement over stock. The Progressive were a good improvement over stock. The Ricor sucked plain and simple. This is from someone who has spent their own money and not selling anything. Along with all this no matter what shock anyone chooses is having the correct spring for you weight and having them adjusted correctly for you and your bike. This is equally as important as to which shock you buy for a truly great ride. Good luck to everyone on whatever you choose.

Thumbs up

What I find most reassuring, after 40+ years of Harley ownership, is that Harley owners are talking about shocks that plainly - and long overdue - can provide us with a high standard of ride comfort and quality. And all credit to DK for their sterling work on that front.

Oh my!

We have tested most of the shocks you listed, and many more that you did not list.

We can sell any of the ones you listed. We are currently an authorized dealer for every company you listed, and more.

Not sure which Bitubo shocks you tried, they make hundreds of different shocks.

We chose to put the two on our website because in our testing they were the best value for $ spent....Out-performing all other shocks we tested that were under $1000.

The two you said you liked the best are north of $1000 per pair, with one of them being closer to $2000 for the pair.

As stated in our report, "There are shocks that may provide a very small incremental improvement in ride quality, but the cost of those shocks are north of $1,000.00. The small improvement is not worth the 2x - 3x price difference."

So no, there is no BS, there is no coincidence, and there is no claim by us that the two shocks on our website are the best. In fact, we state just the opposite on our website.

Full list on the HD159 (Howards #3) is about $1000. Nobody sells them for this amount. Most retailers are selling them for around $850. I paid far less than this, and far less than the Pro Actions. When I was comparing shocks I was comparing the emulsion Pro Action with the separate Ohlins with adjustable rebound . The price was very similar, but I felt I was getting more for the money with the Ohlins.

I talked to George from Pro Action a couple times. he was very professional, quick to respond to emails and seemed like a good guy. I'm sure he sells a great product, I just felt with the deal I got I couldn't pass it up, and I'm very happy with the shocks I have.

I still call BS. I tried the Bitubo piggyback shocks which are around $900, and are a better model than the ones you are selling. The Ohlins #3-#3 sell for about $850 so they are not over $1000 like you state and the Ohlins #6s sell around $1500 not close to $2000 like you state.

Ohlins prices pasted from dealer website

MSRP: $1,007.19
Finish #3 Separated

Start #6 Separated/Remote
MSRP: $1,953.32

Street prices may vary, but all our testing and price comparisons are retail to retail.

Sorry you did not like your Bitubo shocks you chose. As you discovered, paying more does not always mean better.

This! 100%... I paid $775 for the HD159's, and they are phenomenal! Worth every penny, and then some!

Well this is the thread I've been looking for, as I wanted a comparison of the Ohlins verses the Pro Actions. I have a set of Howards 2-2bs, and while they are the best shock I have ever had, because all I had before was stock air shocks, I must say I can't help but think there are better shocks out there. Are the #3-3s any better than the 2-2bs? because if not then I will probably try the Pro Action street series because I am not "Oh my god"impressed with the 2-2bs. I hope the adjustability of rebound and such will make for a better experience with the two shocks I just mentioned. On a side note my 2-2bs have progressive springs on them and I talked to Ohlins USA and they said they would never recommend those springs for my set up.

The 3-3 are better than the 2-2 because they are a separated shock and you have a sweep valve to fine tune adjust them. The more adjustable the better you can dial them in. Good luck with whatever you buy.
