I would agree with you if the shaft had seals or O-rings on either end. Otherwise, that injected grease is going to squeeze out the ends, collect dirt, and generally look like ****.
I have not had problems with oozing grease, even without O-rings. I thought I might after the motor gets hot but this pic is ~500 mile after I installed the zerk. No ooze so far.

No oozing and that includes my ride through Iowa last year at 105 degrees. Sure was hot!
