Default No start.
2012 Ultra. Turn ignition on and headlight, horn, fuses, neutral light lights up and everything seems to be normal. Try hitting the starter button and nothing. Have checked all the obvious. Battery, fob battery, kill switch. This is my brother in laws bike. Mine is a 2014 so I'm not familiar with the differences. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is the bike in neutral? or is the clutch pulled in when you are trying to start it? You have to do one or the other.

Clean, tight connections at the starter and grounds, starter, starter solinoid, starter relay, fuses are the obvious things to check.

Bike in neutral, new batteries in fob. Red key light stays on the dash so it must be a security issue. No fuel pump noise.

new batteries, try flipping them over maybe in backwards. next try the security override.

What's the override for a 12? The same as a 14?

the security does not disable the fuel pump, so no fuel pump noise is not due to the security.

does the motor turn over and you just aren't firing? or is it completely nothing?

Nothing. Everything functions normal, just won't turn over. Like the kill switch is on.
