NOW read the manual and find out to put in your own PIN and over ride the security system, and practice. It is only a matter of time before this bites you again when you are out in the middle of nowhere with no cell coverage for a rescue.
Having the same problem. Changed the bars on my 2009 Ultra and now I get nothing when i hit the starter button. i have read this entire thread and done everything including checking for pinched wires on the handlebars and still nothing, I feel as if it is a security system problem. When I turn on the ignition switch, the fuel doesn't prime, the security indicator flashes a couple times and then stays on solid. I have changed the battery in the fob and checked its contacts. The battery is fully charged. I also noted that the siren is not sounding so i changed the 9v battery with a new one. I also checked the harnesses for the new bars. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears. thanks in advance.
Ah, the notorious run/stop switch. Yeah, always keep the switch in the run position, ALWAYS!! My 09 King did it from the very beginning, and continued to do that until a few guys in my club said the same. It now happens once in a great while, even after 2 bar swaps, just turn off console switch for 30 secs, and turn back on. Otherwise go in the switch housing and see what's up if that don't work. LMK if you get it up and running.
