HD Security HELP
Give some quick history. My friend has a 07 SG. He started having issues with his security system and when he took it to the shop it activated the other bikes around it and they ended up removing the security model and replaced it with a non-security module. So his bike does not have security. Here is the issue....
Now when he pulls up next to a bike with security it disables the other bike. 3 of us are on a ride in GA, sitting out a day of rain, and trying to figure this out. When the 07 parks next to the 09 and a 17 with security on the 09 and 17 are completely disabled. He has To start the 07 and move it more than a 100 feet away so the other 2 will start. He took the batteries out of the key phob and still no luck. Thus is the craziest thing I have ever seen.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

could be another source of radio frequency such as the hid lights sold on ebay- an audio amplifier...many devices emit radio frequency.
mobil speedpass and other gas pump transponders can do similar- the bike has to be pushed away from the pumps to start.
the answer would be what modifications have been done to this 07

07 has Hog Workz LED head light and passing lamps with the halo ring. Aftermarket head unit but no amp, it does have Bluetooth on the radio. No other modifications. 09 and 17 are basically stock.

The dealer thought it was fixed. The owner did not realize until we left on our trip. He will take it back to the dealer once we get home but trying to figure it out, because it is difficult with him having to pull away before the others will start.

I have never seen anyone's security mess with another bike, that's a weird one. I would tend to agree with mkguitar that there is something else that is causing the interference.
oh, and tell your buds that if his bike is interfering with their security and won't start, they need to learn how to use the override code so he doesn't have to move his bike, nor they theirs....

radio frequency is a wacky business- it's almost intangible- you can't see or touch it.
specialized equipment can scan RF, but a dying device ( or ill-manufactured) can produce RF
a radio receiver can emit rf as well- this is how the cops can tell if you have a radar detector- as it receives RF, it produces a harmonic of that signal.
even your computer is emitting RF- at a frequency related to the speed of the processor.
Quality manufacture reduces or shields the emissions- cheap stuff does not
and frequencies which were held open in trust for the public use have been sold off by the FCC to highest bidders- devices designed and sold just a few years ago can be rendered useless- 600mHz band has just been sold
my Pals 2011 FLHTK alarm started chirping on a trip when ever my stock 09 FLHTC pulled next to him...at 70 MPH.
