I too have ran ultimate seats on other bikes love them. But i must say my 17 RGU seat is just fine right now like and works great great for me. I have 5500 miles on her now hope the seat holds up
In the same boat dude. Have a Badlander now on my '06 RKC and it's not good for me. Got a few leads in classifieds on here for a Sundowner or a Mustang touring seat. Dealers don't stock seats for our year bikes to demo so we have to play the buy seat and hope it works game. Good luck man!
I rode this seat to Maine last autumn and to Daytona this spring, and it was perfect from my perspective. The gel conforms just enough to be comfortable, yet not enough that I ever felt the seat pan, which I did after a few hours with the stock seat. The same density is too firm for my wife, though, when she's on the back for even short trips. Not much padding on her, though.
So, I'm still on the search for something that works for both of us. May be letting the Saddlemen go for somewhat less than the $539 it cost me last September ...

Hold on there! So one of you is comfortable, which just leaves sorting out the other one, albeit the most important! If you change the whole seat you may go backwards, so how about finding a firm who can rework the pillion, to help make Mrs S more comfortable? Either someone local, or there are good reviews for several specialist firms around HDF.
I bought a sundowner for my 09 flhx. I like it but im going to send it to mcc this winter to get it more to my liking. it sits me to far forward and up high to much. But comfort is great
What's the story behind the Brough Superior in your pic?
That's Lawrence, who after the War took up motorcycling (as well as military aviation) in an attempt to recapture the rush and otherwise sort out what was in his head. It's a common pursuit, up to the present day.
He was a celebrity endorser of sorts, and was always afforded Brough's newest and most powerful model with which to seek his thrills. As anyone who's seen the opening scene of the movie knows, however, that combination proved fatal. Also a recurring theme, unfortunately.
Anyway ... as a professional military strategist who over the course of a long career has pondered some of the same cultural questions as he, and also a motorcyclist, I somewhat relate.
