A buddy and I are planning to go to BBBBQ in Fayetteville Ark. this year. Looking for suggestions on places to stay near the rally site. I like to park the bike after a day of riding and enjoy a couple of adult beverages. Anyone have suggestions on where to stay that would allow walking to restaurants and bars at the rally?
I think that is a tall order. The hotels that are within walking distance of the bars and restaurants are probably going to be booked up.
I would try to see if you can reserve a room in Eureka Springs. That might be tough to do too, but you would have a better shot at doing that.
You could go to BBB during the day and there will be plenty to do in Eureka in the evening.
+1
We stay in Eureka Springs when we go.
This event is so big, that every hotel will be full of bikes for 50 miles.
Eureka Springs is much more relaxed, but still lots going on.
If your there to party, you probably want to get closer (Rogers, Bentonville are two other places to consider).
But if you would rather ride the area roads, enjoy the scenery and still have a good time, Eureka Springs is perfect.
It will be completely full of bikes!
Dickson Street is probably the main place for BBBBQ. Any hotel close to that would be good. If you can find one I assume the price will be astronomical. This is a huge 3 day rally and as earlier posters have said it's all over NW AR.
I've been many times and in fact am moving about 25 miles away from Fayetteville. It's a good time but there is a large police presence so be careful if you drink and ride.
From: Minneapolis (full time)/ Fayetteville, AR (part time)
I have a vacation home in Fayetteville, thus I'm very familiar with the area. My SGS lives there so it's available when we are down vacationing. You might want to try one of the rental sites for properties near Dickson Street, as many locals want to leave during that time due to traffic and noise. I know that although more expensive than during a regular weekend, the hotels are not Sturgis-priced (i.e. $300+ per night.) I think a place like the Super 8 is around $150 but I could be wrong. There is also the idea of taking a cab to and from Dickson Street for the night time activities. Just a thought.
