I have a 2009 Ultra with the Screaming Eagle tuner. I pulled the plugs and it appears to be running rich. Do I need a full dyno tune, or can I get a tech to fix the mixture only?
You didn't provide much information. Like how long have you had this bike. How does it run overall. MPG ? What mods were made. Who tuned it in the first place. Miles etc. Plugs aren't a good way to measure fuel mixture. The best way to tune a bike is by a qualified dyno tuner. But if the bike is running fine why spend the money?
you can says "running rich" but when- under which conditions?
a mistuned EFI bike can be rich in one area and lean in 200 other areas and vice versa
if you have visible soot, black clouds or poor mpg you could have a problem and it could be something other than a tune- bad o2 sensor, intake leak, plug wires etc
plug colour is also vastly affected by fuel additive packages- the common 10% ethanol blends in many markets will look different than similar mixture without the ethanol.
other additives can also have an effect and the changes could be winter/summer blend, or by brand
