Just curious if anyone has installed the Harley XM module on the ultra limited. If so did you need the overlay harness? Which one (there are two)? Is it an easy install? I have seen several posts for other models that required the harness but I would think the Limited would already have the needed harness for the CB and intercom connections. I have an 2011 FLHTK.
Thanks.
Okay let me rephrase this. Does anyone currently have the Harley XM module on 2006-2013 Ultra limited (FLHTK) models and still able to use the intercom or CB? If so, what wiring harness did you end up using? I successfully installed the module, antenna bracket, and the harness that Harley said I needed. The XM works but the intercom & CB doesn't seem to be working.
Yes the instructions state use 70169-06a but Harley says to use 70172-06. When you look online at 70169-06a isn't a fitment for 2011 FLHTK. Also, I think I need to move the antenna external as the signal cuts out a lot.
I have a 13 FLHTK. Your motorcycle already has the overlay harness if it's a limited. You will however need the Y harness (70172-06) so that you can install the CB module and the XM module. As for the antenna, I have it mounted to the plate that it came with under the fairing and have had no issues.

Thank you. I was able to test everything today and it worked.
My antenna is under the batwing fairing. It was dealer installed when I purchased my 2011 FLHTK. The only time I lose a signal is when I go under bridges, and it isn't every
time I lose the signal.
