Ultra, do you have a Parts manual? I think it has a good breakdown on how they go together. Keep us posted in the secret, as some of us are thinking about doing the same thing.
I to just got finnished putting in the progressives in the front of my Ultra...What a diffence...
I was concerned that it would be more complecated then it was...
While I was in there I designed a system that would add additional preload to the springs without taking them totally apart and adding additional shim length...
I presently have 2 other sets made and have one system in a race tech front end and the other is going into another racetech front end...R&D
The beauty of this systen is I can add up to 1/2" of additional preload to the springs in 1/8" increaments starting at 1/4", 3/8", and ending at 1/2"...
The manufacturer will give you a guide line to start but unfortunatly nothing is in stone as to what will work the best for you...
Naturally the heavier the load the more preload you should have
Give me a PM if you need some help with your front end and the progressives since I just finnished them in my bike...
three days ago itry to ride my friend 2005 Ultra Classic Peace Officer Edition.....i have 04 Ultra classic...
man....its different...the front of the bike feel lower than my ultra....his bike is 100% stock...the bike handle lighter, turn faster....
and today i order lowering kit for front fork for my ultra.....my rear shock still stock...
is it a problem if i only lower the front only..??? coz i feel my frien peace officer ultra lower in the front than my ultra....
in sportbike world, front lower give better/lighter handle and turn.....is it make sense in hd world...??
please help me....tommorow the lowering kit will come.....
I would not lower just the front if it were me. You can find take off Street Glide rear shocks on ebay all day long, cheap. I would put the stock (1" lower) SG shocks on the rear, and then lower the front the 1", it will help the handling of the bike simply because the center of gravity has been lowered. JMHO
